How do we ensure high academic standards?

Our Principal's record of achievement in leadership is substantial. During the five years of his previous headship, at Kelmscott School in Waltham Forest, the school featured as one of the 100 most improved in the country, and was in the top 5 per cent nationally for adding value to student performance. Education Minister Lord Adonis described the school's progress as "remarkable" and its leadership as "outstanding."

Wren provides courses to meet the aptitudes and aspirations of all of our students. We ensure that those who require extra help are given it – be they gifted or with statements of educational need. The Wren curriculum supports students in progressing as quickly as they are able, and there are early entry arrangements for some GCSE and A Level examinations.

A computerised tracking assessment system is used by teachers to help evaluate and improve each student's progress. Parents receive regular feedback throughout the year and we encourage a continuing dialogue about each student's performance between Wren and home.

A broad and balanced curriculum helps students develop as independent thinkers and learners beyond the boundaries of traditional lessons. Our specialism in design and the built environment enhances teaching and learning across the curriculum, providing all young people with a range of exciting, thought-provoking and innovative opportunities to learn.
