On Friday 12 February 42 students and five staff embarked on their journey to the Spanish Pyrenees - the Academy’s first ski trip. After a long journey (24 hours) by coach we finally arrived, tired but excited, at our hotel in Port Aine. We all got kitted out with our skis and boots ready for next morning and ski school.
After a good night’s sleep, students had an initial assessment to put them into ski groups. Over the next five days all the students made great progress and improved their technique dramatically. The ski school commented on how well and enthusiastically all students responded to lessons. It was also good to see staff learning to ski alongside the students. From the attached photos you will appreciate the stunning scenery and ski conditions we were all able to enjoy.
In the evening the hotel provided entertainment including quizzes, karaoke and a disco. These events were enjoyed by all. After a great trip we returned to the Academy the following Friday.
