Induction Day

Wednesday 7 July 2010 saw the Academy's third Year 6 Induction Day. This was the first of its kind however, due to our completed Academy site. This year we were able to involve all students and staff and this ensured that our year 6 students were really able to access the full Wren experience.

Wren's young entrepreneurs

All of our students were put into vertical tutor groups, which they worked in throughout the day. Our year 7 and 8 students helped our new cohort to find their way around the site by supporting them in a treasure hunt. They then led sessions on an introduction to building learning power.

Selecting the portfolio

All of our staff taught a mini taster lesson to give the students an idea of the type of learning that they will be undertaking in different subject areas. From three-legged races in PE to ADT and creative writing.

Lunar and Mr Oakley

Although there were some nervous faces at the start of the day, these had transformed into smiles by the end. As students left, they said they were looking forward to starting properly in September and that they had enjoyed their day.

Thank you to all the staff and students who worked so hard to make the day a success.

Jo Bell, Assistant Principal jo.bell@wrenacademy.org
