How will we ensure high academic standards?

Our Principal's record of achievement in leadership is substantial. During the five years of his previous headship, at Kelmscott School in Waltham Forest, the school featured as one of the 100 most improved in the country, and was in the top 5 per cent nationally for adding value to student performance. Education Minister Lord Adonis described the school's progress as "remarkable" and its leadership as "outstanding."

Wren will provide courses to meet the aptitudes and aspirations of all of our students. We will ensure that those who require extra help will be given it – be they gifted or with statements of educational need. The Wren curriculum will support students to progress as quickly as they are able and there will be early entry arrangements for some GCSE and A Level examinations.

A computerised tracking assessment system will be used by teachers to help evaluate and improve each student's progress. Parents will receive regular feedback throughout the year and we will encourage a continuing dialogue about each student's performance between Wren and home.

A broad and balanced curriculum will help students develop as independent thinkers and learners beyond the boundaries of traditional lessons. Our specialism in Design and the Built Environment will enhance teaching and learning across the curriculum, providing all young people with a range of exciting, thought-provoking and innovative opportunities to learn.
